We’re at the point in quarantine rumors are starting to fly and people are likely to jump all over it, because….what the hell do we have to do right now while being stuck in the house.
Free agency got off to a fast start in the NFL, but has slowed down over the past few days. That brings us to the next bit of news that should be taken with a grain of salt.
Leroy, the dog of PFT Commenter from Barstool Sports, “reported” earlier this week that former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is “strongly” considering coming back to the NFL and has every intention of joining quarterback Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Seems silly, but “Leroy” did have a correct report of FB Anthony Sherman re-signing with the Chiefs this offseason, as well as stating NFL Red Zone would be re-airing games in April. Might be luck, might have some actual connections.
The choice is yours on whether you want to believe this info.
What you should know is that the Patriots hold Gronkowski’s rights on the reserve/retired list, and they could not reinstate him without freeing up $9 million in cap space, since he holds a cap hit of $9,859,375.

The Pats have just over $1 million in cap space right now.
