To trade or not to trade, that appears to be the question at hand.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports stated that there is a “distinct possibility” of the Redskins trading down from the No. 2 overall.
“I continue to hear that the Redskins are increasingly open to trading out… If they do trade back a few spots, I believe strongly they would target Isaiah Simmons, and that’s another player who I’m told is super-high on their board.”
Ohio State DE Chase Young has been widely linked to the Redskins at that pick for months.
However, La Canfora noted that it would take a hefty package of draft picks to what they previously gave up to get Robert Griffin III. In that infamous trade for Robert Griffin III in 2012, the Redskins received the draft’s No. 2 pick from the Rams, while St. Louis received a haul of eight players.
Griffin was released by Washington in 2016.

JP Finlay agreed with the idea of the Redskins trading the pick as the franchise needs a load of help in several areas that even as a great player in Chase Young wouldn’t be able to fix.
Rumor or not, this is something worth monitoring as the draft draws closer.
