Lamar Jackson has privately told those close to him that he will not play on the franchise tag if applied, at least that is the viral rumor that is going around on social media.
That rumor comes via 5ReasonsSports, who added that Jackson has a list of teams he would like to go to and they include the Lions, Dolphins, and Eagles.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen had previously reported that the Ravens offered the former MVP a six-year deal that could be worth more than $290 million, but only $133 million was fully guaranteed. Jackson is likely looking for a deal that exceeds the fully guaranteed contract that Deshaun Watson got from the Cleveland Browns after he was traded there from the Houston Texans($230 million in guaranteed money).
The Ravens and Jackson still have next offseason to strike a deal, but some NFL pundits are already speculating that Jackson wants out of the franchise.
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora believes Jackson will find a new home by the time the 2023 NFL draft rolls around.
