After signing a 10-year deal to return to the sidelines and coach the Oakland Raiders — head coach Jon Gruden had a plan in place to return the franchise to its past glory days, but not without some bumps in the road during his 1st year.
In came Gruden and out went Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears and WR Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys. The team seemed to be in official rebuild mode…or so we thought.
NFL insider Benjamin Allbright took to Twitter and sent out a screenshot that suggested that Gruden might be trying to pull off a superteam of acquiring Kyler Murray, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell.
The Raiders own the No. 4 pick in April’s draft, as well as two other picks in the first round (No. 22 and No. 27). After parting ways with Cooper and Mack, they certainly have some cap space to make some moves during this offseason, so while this rumor might seem far fetched, anything is possible.
Who knows, Gruden might be secretly trying to trade Derek Carr to make all of this happen.
