It seemed at one point that no team wanted to trade for Justin Fields. Many teams needed a quarterback and a bunch of them still do which came as a surprise that teams weren’t calling the Chicago Bears to make it happen.
In the end, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded a sixth-round pick in the 2025 Draft to get Justin Fields in a trade. Just because he is in Pittsburgh does not mean he will remain there.
A new circulating rumor states the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback remains on the radar for the Minnesota Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings are expected to trade up for a QB in the NFL draft and have also signed Sam Darnold to the roster. If they do trade up to select their guy, they might then make a play for Justin Fields, which would certainly make Justin Jefferson happy as he went on record to state he wants to know what the team will be doing at quarterback before he signs a long-term deal.
With the Bears, Justin Fields completed 60.3% of his passes for 6,674 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions across his 38 starts and 40 career games for the Bears over the past three seasons. He was also a dual threat who rushed for 2,220 yards and 14 more scores, finishing with the second most single-season rushing yards by an NFL quarterback in 2022, according to ESPN.com.

Justin Fields Blocked Trades With Four Teams Before Landing With Steelers
Justin Fields wanted Pittsburgh so badly that even though four NFL teams inquired about the 25-year-old quarterback, his camp “asked for him not to be traded there” as he “wanted the Steelers,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
The four suitors were not specified so there is no way of knowing if the Minnesota Vikings were on there.
Justin Fields’ move from Chicago came one day after the Steelers traded third-year quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Eagles.
Fields, the Bears’ 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had been at the center of trade speculation for months as Chicago holds the top pick in this year’s draft and is anticipated to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
