Stop me if you heard this before, but the Michigan Wolverines lost another big game on Saturday night when they lost by a touchdown at Penn State, as the Wolverines dropped to 5-2 on the season.
Once again, people began calling for him to be removed as the program’s chances of playing in the College Football Playoff and Big Ten championship were squandered with another loss.
Harbaugh is in his fifth season at Michigan, and although he hasn’t exactly been a failure, he also hasn’t produced any Big Ten championships, no College Football Playoff berths, no wins over Ohio State.
Looking for Harbaugh to be fired probably won’t happen, because it seems he may be gone before it ever gets to that point.
Football Scoop is now reporting that Harbaugh has “eyes” on his exit strategy.
“Lead FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt speculated last month Harbaugh could retire, but sources say the Harbaugh camp has its eye on a different departure.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Harbaugh’s representatives have their eye on getting their client back in the NFL.”
Harbaugh’s NFL tenure was highly successful, as he led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance, and it certainly could’ve been more if he didn’t have a falling out with the front office.
