CeeDee Lamb is still discussing a new deal with the Dallas Cowboys, and it’s been suggested that he could be traded to a certain AFC team should things not work out.
Lamb hasn’t asked to be traded, as far as we know, yet he is only contracted to the Cowboys for one more season, so a trade would be the best option for the team if they can’t come to terms on an extension.
With the Denver Broncos keen on a new wide receiver, it’s been suggested that the Cowboys wideout could possibly end up playing for Sean Payton.
Cortland Sutton is the team’s top receiving option following Jerry Jeudy’s trade to the Cleveland Browns.
They would likely jump at the opportunity to acquire the Dallas star, but a trade would probably be a last resort for America’s team, considering that Lamb has flourished at the position and has become one of the best wideouts in the NFL.
Still, the Cowboys need to be prepared for the worst in his case.

Lamb will not leave Dallas without significant returns heading the other way, and the team he ends up on would have to re-sign him in less than a year.
The Broncos have several pieces at their disposal and a pick in every round of the 2025 NFL Draft, making them an ideal trade partner.
How Do The Denver Broncos Get CeeDee Lamb?
A recent piece from Bleacher Report suggests Denver could send Sutton to Dallas with a second or third-round pick. While Sutton is not as good as Lamb, he is still one of the most productive receivers in the league.
An extension seemed a foregone conclusion after the WR set a franchise record for receiving yards last season, surpassing Michael Irving’s single-season tally of 1,603 with 1,671. We’re now in July, and he has yet to sign a new deal.
According to Dallas Morning News reporter Calvin Watkins, CeeDee Lamb will sit out training camp if he doesn’t get the money he’s after.
Of course, the Cowboys aren’t in the best position either, as Spotrac estimates that they are $20 million over the salary cap and still have Dak Prescott to deal with. It will be interesting to see how things work out for them on that front.
