After a disappointing offseason that produced little, the Dallas Cowboys need to work hard during the next offseason to show their fan base and the rest of the world that they still have a window to win the Super Bowl.
Heading into the 2024 offseason, it was clear that wide receiver depth was a pressing issue.
They never addressed it.
The Cowboys, who’ve fought through an inconsistent start, find themselves looking for that extra spark to elevate their offense.
It likely will not happen until the 2025 offseason, which could net them two dynamic wideouts.
Athlon Sports thinks the Dallas Cowboys could use a “Blow It Up” plan, which would allow for a potential $100 million in cap room.
They started with CeeDee Lamb and a contractual “flip of the switch” that continues to allow him to average $34 million per year in salary, but it would only count against the cap in 2025, just $20.45 million.

The report then adds Bengals wideout Tee Higgins to a contract that hits the cap at $18 million.
Next up was adding Stefon Diggs, who is currently recovering from a torn ACL. He was hoping to have a huge year to land one more big contract, but he might take a smaller deal.
His injury and age—31—mean he might sign a “prove-it” deal with the Dallas Cowboys, who have him going at $3 million.
He is liable to take it since he will be able to play with his brother, Trevon Diggs.

The Dallas Cowboys Have Small Chance To Make The Playoffs
The Dallas Cowboys, with a 5-7 record after Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season, are still mathematically alive in the playoff race.
The team finally secured its first home win of the season when it defeated the Giants on Thanksgiving, but it still has a one-percent chance of making the postseason.
Their remaining five opponents have a combined .508 win percentage, per CBS.
The SportsLine simulation model gives the Cowboys just a 1.8% chance to make the postseason and an even more narrow 0.9% chance to win all five of their remaining regular season games.
It is not over until it’s over.
