Back in September 2019, Ezekiel Elliott’s holdout from the team eventually forced the team to sign him to a 6-year, $90M extension, with $50 million of that being guaranteed.
Zeke did not live up to that contract in 2019, and so far has been a disappointment on the field in 2020, especially since Dak Prescott’s season has ended.
Sources have now told uStadium that the team is deeply concerned with him and may be looking to move on.
“A source told us that the Cowboys are concerned about Ezekiel Elliott and are exploring ways to move on from the former All-Pro. While it’s unlikely anything happens this offseason, 2021 could be Zeke’s final year in Big D.”
“So while Zeke is expected to play in Dallas next season, there is reason to monitor his situation moving forward and the deal is considered team-friendly in 2022 and beyond.”
On the season, Zeke has 832 yards on 211 carries with five touchdowns, but also has lost a career-high five fumbles and has just one 100-yard game on the season.
