A rumor has surfaced that a blockbuster NFL trade involving a “superstar” player is nearly completed.
According to the @NFLNotify X/Twitter account, a “blockbuster” NFL trade involving an unknown star is “brewing.” They added that the deal has “been agreed to” and that it’ll be sent to the NFL office by the end of this week.
This is only a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. But it’s not rare for a significant NFL trade to take place in the month leading up to the start of the NFL regular season, and a handful of notable names have dominated the rumor mill.
Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Tee Higgins agreed to play 2024 under the franchise tag, but a trade always remains a possibility if the AFC North team gets an offer they cannot refuse.

Two weeks ago, news broke that San Francisco 49ers superstar Brandon Aiyuk requested a trade, with contract extension talks going nowhere. Also, New England Patriots star pass rusher Matthew Judon has been vocal about wanting a new deal as he heads into his contract year.
New York Jets edge rusher Haason Reddick is holding out with the hopes of getting a new deal, too. And keep an eye on a potential blockbuster NFL trade in New Orleans, with Saints running back Alvin Kamara looking for more guaranteed money on his contract.
It’s Not Too Late For More Blockbuster Offseason NFL Trades
Most notable NFL trades happen in March (the start of the new league year) and the draft in April. But don’t forget that we’ve seen many blockbuster deals in the weeks (or days) leading up to the regular season, including the Sam Bradford move to the Minnesota Vikings in 2016, the Khalil Mack trade to the Chicago Bears in 2018, the Jadeveon Clowney deal to the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 and the the CJ Gardner-Johnson trade to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
