It seems like forever since we’ve seen Zach Wilson on the field of play, but he made his much anticipated return to the team on Sunday against the Houston Texans.
Wilson returned to the lineup Sunday against the Texans, after he missing the past four games with a knee injury.
Before his return, the rookie QB showed off his brand spanking new sports car that was Jets-themed. Wilson captioned the picture: “M3 in the perfect shade of green.”
The franchise has basically been looking for a savior behind center since Joe Namath’s run ended in 1977.
Somehow, Mike White and Joe Flacco were able to run the offense better than him in his abscence. The offense averaged 435.8 yards per game in the past four after averaging 272.3 in the first six games with Wilson.
He made it clear that he is not out to prove anybody wrong when he steps on the field.

“I don’t really care what anybody really thinks, if I’m being honest,” Wilson said. “I want to see improvement in myself, as far as when I watch the tape at the end of the day, do I see improvement. Not necessarily looking at a stat line or just the win column. When we handle our business at each individual player, the wins will take care of themselves. And so I just got to be able to go in there and grade myself based off of how I’m doing each and every single play of just making the best decision I can.”
Wilson, who was 14 of 24 for 145 yards, one INT and a 58.5 rating for the game, led the team to two TDs, which was more than enough to get the victory over the Texans.
