Roger Goodell has joined the many people around the NFL to have joked about the “NFL script,” but fans didn’t think it was funny, at least not the ones online.
The script has been the subject of rife discussions but has now turned into a bit of a joke among fans, as well as former and current players. There are probably many fans out there who think it’s real, though we’re yet to see some solid proof.
Even the NFL Commissioner has gotten in on the act as he cracked some jokes about the script while speaking about the recent Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Goodell jokingly admitted that he and the “scriptwriters” got together and thought it would be a great story if they had two brothers go up against each other.
Goodell’s quips got a good reaction from the crowd right in front of him, but the ones on Twitter did not see the funny side. Of course, Chiefs fans will always be way more accommodating of such humor.

It’s unlikely the script theories will ever go away, especially not while refereeing continues to be such a controversial issue.
We could do with the jokes, however.
