The NFL has now been hit close to home by the coronavirus outbreak after New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton tested positive for it on Thursday.
Roger Goodell has now spoken out about it.
Hours after the news dropped, the NFL commissioner issued a statement:
“Our primary concern is for Sean’s health and well-being,” Goodell said. “He did the right thing by seeking medical attention and we wish him a speedy recovery. It shouldn’t come as a surprise as this pandemic continues that members of our NFL family will be directly impacted. This news underscores the importance of everyone following the advice from medical and public health experts to protect themselves and others.”
Literally every hour, there are multiple people coming down with the virus and it’s gotten so bad that the entire state of California has now issued a stay-at-home order. That is over 40 million people.
