It would be hard to find a more delusional NFL head coach right now than Robert Saleh.
His New York Jets had just endured a devastating, embarrassing loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars. His offense managed to score just three measly points in a 19-3 loss. And he even had to bench 2021 second-overall pick Zach Wilson for a second time this season.
Sure, you don’t expect him to just go out there during his post-game press conference and throw the 23-year-old quarterback under the bus. But to actually claim that Wilson “has gotten better”?
It was just one of many ridiculous comments made by Saleh.
There was also the one where he tried to claim that he didn’t actually bench Wilson for his performance—rather, he apparently just wanted to get the run game going.

Oh, and how could we forget the part where he said, “we haven’t seen the last of [Zach Wilson].”
Someone actually decided to address the elephant in the room and ask Saleh straight-up why every other quarterback the Jets have used over the last two years has had more success than Wilson.
Not surprisingly, the Jets head coach didn’t have an answer for that.
Anyone who watched tonight’s debacle—or any of Wilson’s previous starts over these last two seasons—know that these comments from Saleh are batshit insane.
Many took to social media to torch the Jets coach for his ridiculous postgame press conference.
