New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has revealed whether he believes Tom Brady would have remained with the team had Bill Belichick left in 2020.
Brady, now retired, became a seven-time Super Bowl winner with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leaving Belichick with lots of egg on his face following the former head coach suggesting he was washed up.
Brady and Belichick’s relationship frayed to the point where the quarterback knew he would have to leave New England, something he revealed in a new documentary called ‘The Dynasty’ released by Apple TV+ this month.
The series outlines the Patriots’ ascent as well as the collapse that ensued after Brady’s departure.
Kraft discusses Brady’s soured relationship with Belichick on the show, claiming he believes the former QB would stick around if Belichick left.
“Yes, I feel pretty strongly about that,” he replies when asked.

Kraft, who has since fired Belichick and replaced him with Jerod Mayo, is understood to have been upset with the former coach after watching TB12 lift the Lombardi Trophy in another uniform.
“Bill had told me he couldn’t play anymore,” ESPN quoted him as having said in a private conversation, “and then he goes out and wins the F- ing Super Bowl.”
“He just said, ‘I made a mistake.’ He told us that back in September,” Tom Brady’s father has also been quoted as saying. “We don’t all make the right decisions, but he’s made a hell of a lot of good ones over the years. But I know that it galls him that Tommy went elsewhere and won. Not that he won, but that he won after Bill said he was done.”
Letting Brady leave must rank near the top of Kraft’s list of regrets. BStill, he has six Super Bowl wins he can look back on.
