Fans want an apology from an analyst on ESPN. There are times when announcers and commentators talk too much and RGIII has been towing the line on things that have come out of his mouth.
ESPN college football analyst Robert Griffin III has been taking major heat over his statement about Jesus during Saturday’s Ole Miss vs. LSU game. Several Ole Miss defensive players swarmed LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels for a sack late in the game as the group of defenders picked Daniels up as referees blew the whistle to signal the end of the play.
The player’s actions prompted Griffin to reference Jesus in an analogy.
“The coverage was there,” Griffin said. “They lifted that man up to the sky like he was Jesus, letting him know they were gonna put him on the cross right there.”
Griffin is an evangelical Christian, but that is not going to save him as fans are calling for him to be fired.

Griffin attended and played football at Baylor, which is a private Baptist Christian research university. In 2011, he became the first Baylor player to win the Heisman after his standout junior season. Washington drafted Griffin in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was named the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year that year and received Pro Bowl honors.
Injuries would change the course of his career.
As for the game, Ole Miss ultimately pulled off a 55-49 upset win over the LSU Tigers. Jaxson Dart finished 26 of 39 for 389 yards and four touchdowns and added 50 yards on the ground.
