The TCU wild victory of Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals got even crazier during the third quarter when Robert Griffin III received the news his wife, Estonian heptathlete Grete Griffin, was in labor live on the air while working as part of ESPN’s “Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show” coverage.
The former NFL QB hung up and told the crew “Sorry guys, uh, I gotta go. My wife’s going into labor.” He then took off running.
Despite the dramatic exit, the baby has still not come out as of yet.
Grete posted an update on Sunday morning, revealing that it was a false alarm.
“First off let’s start by saying that even though baby girl tried to make a dramatic entrance last night into 2023, she decided it wasn’t time yet,” she wrote.
