Rob Gronkowski may have played his final season in the league with the Tampa Bay Bucs, but he still has love for the place where he originally made his name.
Rób Gronkowski is one of the greatest New England Patriots of all time, and he would like to see his team flourish by going out and making a huge blockbuster trade.
Gronk told NESN that he would like to see the Patriots make a trade for star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
“The Patriots need to go out and get a wide receiver,” Gronkowski said. “They need a guy like DeAndre Hopkins.”
Gronkowski added that the Patriots have a solid defense, but the offense is missing a key piece amid not having a true offensive coordinator last season. Gronk has faith in new offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, who was re-hired to the team this offseason.
Complicating matters is Hopkins past relationship with O’Brien in Houston when he was head coach. Instead of working out a deal with him, O’Brien traded Hopkins to the Cardinals. He even said at one time that he had “no relationship” with O’Brien.
Don’t expect Hopkins to ever want to step foot in a room that has O’Brien in it.
