Rob Gronkowski won’t be seeing any playing time against his former team after suffering a bevy of injuries last week against the Los Angeles Rams. Gronkowski did not travel with the Buccaneers to Foxborough, Massachusetts, for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots because of the effect that flying could have on his injury.
Gronkowski suffered the injury during Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams but returned to finish the game. We now know just how bad of a condition he was in to return to that game.
According to Jay Glazer, Gronk had “four cracked ribs, one broken rib and a punctured lung.”
Gronkowski did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and was spotted only stretching during Friday’s practice. The team officially ruled him out on Saturday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he could miss multiple weeks.
