It appears Rob Gronkowski is going to do the same exact thing as his former QB and head off into the sunset.
The future Hall of Famer told TMZ Sports there is “no chance” of him making a return to the NFL next season.
“There’s no chance anymore,” Gronkowski said. “I’m happily retired.”
Gronkowski retired for a second time after the 2021 season, but it did not stop rumors from coming out that he may return after Tom Brady stated he was coming back last season. Despite the rumors, he never got close to signing a contract and now it appears it will never happen again.
Any chance of a second comeback was nixed when Tom Brady announced his own second retirement in February and made sure everybody knew he was done with the game for real this time. Brady was Gronkowski’s only primary quarterback over the course of his career, so it is unlikely he would want to play for any other signal-caller at this stage of his career.
Gronkowski added that he has maintained his competitive edge by playing pickleball.

“I’m happily retired. I’m still competing, I’m still winning, so I don’t even need to go back to football,” Gronkowski said.
Gronkowski was still playing well in 2021, catching 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns, but he’ll turn 34 next month and has had plenty of injuries.
A likely first-ballot Hall of Famer, Gronkowski will become eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027.
For now, he will continue to work for FOX during the season and play some pickleball with his brothers.
