Many have been speculating about a potential return to football for star tight end Rob Gronkowski after announcing his retirement in June, but it appears that he has his eyes on another potential media role at the moment.
ESPN announced on Thursday that it will feature Gronkowski along with the rest of his family in an alternate broadcast for UFC 278 on Saturday.
In the promo leading up to the fight, Gronk was asked if he thought he could handle Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald in the octagon. He wasted no time answering that question.
Gronkowski was also asked about Tom Brady (“Yes! Cake.”), Mike Evans (“Yes. Sorry Mike…”), Julian Edelman (“… Yeah I could take him down.”), DK Metcalf (“He’s a freak… but yeah.”), and Vince Wilfork (“Oh no, no, no…”).
It’s unclear if Gronkowski will return to the NFL after his latest retirement like he did in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but media roles like this seem to indicate that he is enjoying himself in his life outside of football.
