Sports photographer Kfitz has posted a heartbreaking story to social media detailing why he was banned by the NFL.
Kfitz, whose real name is Kevin Fitzgibbons, pursued his passion to the point where he’s worked with some of the biggest names in sports, including NFL stars Tyreek Hill and Saquon Barkley. He landed a dream job as a photographer for the Miami Dolphins last year but has since been suspended for the rest of the season and fears he might be done.
The suspension came as a result of Hill grabbing Kfitz’s phone for his epic backflip celebration after the wide receiver scored a 41-yard touchdown in mid-October.
The photographer did not know Hill was going to take his phone; the moment was totally spontaneous, and the wideout said so himself after the game. While he was fined for it, Kfitz was suspended.
The league did acknowledge that he was not at fault but suspended him anyway because he became a bit too ecstatic after having his phone snatched.

Sad stuff, right?
A petition to have Kevin reinstated is now in circulation. It reads:
“Kfitz, a dedicated and passionate videographer for the NFL at Hard Rock Stadium, was unjustly suspended from his job for simply having fun while on duty.
“He was caught off guard by an unexpected celebration from Tyreek Hill and joined in the merriment, unaware of any potential repercussions. This incident has highlighted a lack of clarity in workplace rules about employee conduct during such spontaneous events.
“We call upon Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the NFL, to reconsider this decision and reinstate Kfitz to his position as videographer at Hard Rock Stadium. His enthusiasm and love for football are evident in his work and contribute significantly to capturing memorable moments that resonate with fans globally.”
We do hope that Kfitz is allowed to return to work at some point given how unfairly he has been treated. While such a petition isn’t expected to have an effect on the NFL, you just never know.
Maybe give it a go?
