News of a shooting incident involving Ricky Pearsall rocked the football world on Saturday. The San Francisco 49ers rookie was taken to hospital after getting shot in the chest during a robbery attempt, with his Rolex watch understood to have been his assailant’s focus.
The wideout was said to be stable at hospital as of Saturday night. His mother, Erin, has since offered an update following his worrying ordeal, revealing that he is recovering well and is in good spirits.
“Update on my baby boy,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “First and (foremost), I want to thank GOD for protecting my baby boy. He is extremely lucky, GOD shielded him. He was shot in the chest and it exited out his back. Thanks be to GOD it missed his vital organs. He is in good spirits right now. Life is so precious my friends. Please love each other. My son was spared today by the grade of GOD. Please pray for my baby.”

Ricky Pearsall And His Attacker Were Both Hospitalized
Pearsall and his would-be robber are understood to have both suffered gunshot wounds as there was a struggle between them when the gun went off. They were taken to hospital, with the suspect remaining in police custody and facing charges.
“Upon arrival, officers located two male subjects suffering from injuries. Officers rendered aid and medics transported both subjects to a local hospital for further medical evaluation,” the police said in a statement.

The 49ers have also made a statement following Saturday’s incident.
“San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and shooting this afternoon,” the team wrote in a tweet on Saturday evening. “He sustained a bullet wound to his chest and is in serious but stable condition. We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family.”
