One of the most difficult things to do in the NFL is defenders attempting to tackle and bring down Derrick Henry without being embarrassed and ran over.
Richard Sherman has a suggestion on how to do it.
The San Francisco 49ers cornerback sat down with Chris Collinsworth on his podcast and was asked how defenders should approach tackling Henry. During his explanation, he threw a bit of shade at Josh Norman:
“You’ve just got to commit,” Sherman said. “You can’t play the game with him. You can’t line him up and say ‘hey, I’m going to punch out the ball, I’m going to knock his hand down.’ You’ve got to go full speed, no hesitation hit him in his thigh board and don’t stop running your feet. And even then, once you wrap up, even then he may run through it.”
