Russell Wilson was a disaster of a trade for the Denver Broncos and it was only made worse after they gave him a huge extension before he even played a game. It was a ridiculous $245 million contract that also gave him $165 million guaranteed after he forced the Seahawks to trade him with demands of a contract extension.
The Broncos’ trade for Wilson has been stunning in how it has not worked out to plan. On Sunday, it got that much worse after they faced the Baltimore Ravens who lost Lamar Jackson early on in the first quarter and wouldn’t return due to injury. The Broncos couldn’t find the end zone all game long.
With a 10-9 loss to the shorthanded Baltimore Ravens, the Broncos fell to 3-9 on the season. With five games left, Denver is four games out of a playoff spot in the AFC and has essentially sealed their playoff fate.
Wilson completed 17 of 22 passes for 189 yards with no touchdown or interceptions in the Broncos’ 10-9 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
After the game, former teammate, Richard Sherman, who has taken multiple shots at him, took to Twitter and further buried him.
“Who could have imagined?” Sherman said in a sarcastic way to a stat that the Seattle Seahawks are in line to get a top-five pick from the trade.

Last week was a whole new low during which Broncos defensive lineman Mike Purcell screamed at Wilson on the sideline in the fourth quarter of that 23-10 loss to the Panthers.
Alongside head coach Nathaniel Hackett, Wilson’s future in Denver is already up in the air after less than one season.
The Broncos could’ve had this same season without the trade and could’ve saved so much money as well as their draft picks.
