Richard Sherman appeared in court today and pleaded not guilty to his five charges, which include two domestic violence charges, resisting arrest, DUI, and reckless endangerment of roadway workers. While leaving the courtroom, the free agent cornerback was met by a swarm of media.
With his wife by his side, Sherman told reporters that he was appreciative of the support he’s received from those who are concerned about his well-being. He also took the time to answer a few questions from the media.
Have a look:
Sherman is set to appear in court again on August 13 for a pre-trial hearing.
He was released from prison without bail under the conditions that he refrain from drinking, seeing his father-in-law, possessing a weapon, and he must promise to appear back in court on his trial date.
Sherman also issued a statement over Twitter, in which he publicized his mental health struggles but also said that is no excuse for his behavior.
