Richard Sherman plans to be the bigger man and own up to his mistake.
The 49ers cornerback told reporters after the blowout victory against the Cleveland Browns that the 2nd-year quarterback snubbed in the handshake line before the coin toss.
“What’s amazing, and annoying, was him not shaking hands at the beginning,” Sherman said. “That’s some college s—. It’s ridiculous. We’re all trying to get psyched up, but shaking hands with your opponent — that’s NFL etiquette. And when you pull bush league stuff, that’s disrespectful to the game. And believe me, that’s gonna get us fired up.”
Well, videos would soon surface showing that a handshake actually happened between the two, so Sherman switched it up and stated he felt disrespected in the way Baker gave his handshake.
He spoke about it on Pat McAfee’s podcast on Wednesday and also stated that he would be delivering an apology to Mayfield who was wrongfully accused of something he did not do.
