Over the weekend, suddenly Cam Newton found a new team when he signed a 1-year deal with the New England Patriots.
The news in itself was a shock, but San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was not happy with Newton’s mediocre NFL contract.
Sherman immediately jumped on Twitter and called Newton’s minimum deal “ridiculous” and “disgusting.”
Newton appeared to be fine with his deal after dealing with an injury that cost him 14 games during the 2019 season. The 2015 NFL MVP played started just two games due to an injured shoulder and a foot fracture, among others.
Whatever the case may be, Cam has a very good chance to become the starter, be successful, and set himself up for a big deal in 2021.
