Following Seattle’s 24-14 victory over Washington in a Wild Card game, Washington offensive tackle Trent Williams would deliver a viral moment when he confronted Richard Sherman and punched him in the face. The incident took place during the Seahawks’ post-game celebration in the middle of the field.
Williams threw an aggressive forearm to Sherman’s face and knocked him back into the people behind him. Sherman did not retaliate.
In his most recent podcast, Sherman was in a sharing mood as he spoke about the incident.
“During the game there’s a few back and forths between Trent and I and Chris Clemons and a few other guys… Trent apparently took exception… The rest is history, as I say. We had a conversation right after that consequently, a text and phone conversation and cooler minds prevailed and we’ve been friends ever since. But, you know, the clip still lives.”
While Sherman’s playing career is winding down, Williams is incredibly still going strong after 11 years and 149 games in the league.
