Richard Sherman is not here for Drew Brees’ comments on the National Anthem and why players were kneeling.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees raised a bunch of eyebrows when he reiterated his original stance against players kneeling during the national anthem as we head into a new season.
Brees told Yahoo Finance on Wednesday he would never agree with it and gave a reason why. “I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell you what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States,” the 41-year-old quarterback told the outlet.
They were his first comments in the wake of George Floyd’s killing last week.
Soon after those comments made the rounds, Richard Sherman was one of the first to fire back at him.
The San Francisco 49ers cornerback took to Twitter and ate Brees alive with his response.
