Looks like the burglary domestic violence charges aren’t the only thing Richard Sherman is dealing with at the moment. According to TMZ, he could be facing a few more serious charges after crashing his vehicle and fleeing the scene prior to his arrest.
According to the Washington State Patrol, they are currently investigating Sherman for a possible hit-and-run and DUI, which occurred about an hour before his arrest in Redmond, Washington.
The Washington State Patrol tells TMZ Sports … they’re now investigating Sherman for a possible hit-and-run and DUI after cops say he crashed his car an hour or so before his arrest.
Officials say Sherman hit a barrier in a construction zone on a highway at around 1 AM … and then still drove the car — despite popped tires — away from the area.
Cops say Sherman then abandoned the ride at a local parking lot off the exit.
WSP tells us troopers later located Sherman along with the Redmond Police Dept. and assisted in his arrest.
We’re told police did obtain a warrant for bloodwork to determine if Sherman was impaired.
This is more bad news for Sherman, who is still a free agent with NFL training camps set to open at the end of the month. It’s hard to see him getting a contract anytime soon after his latest transgressions. And even if a team does take a chance on Sherman, you have to assume he’ll be serving a lengthy suspension before stepping onto an NFL field again.
