It’s not often you see a former player beefing with his old coach online, but that’s exactly what’s been going on between RGIII and Jay Gruden.
They’ve literally been going at it all week.
It started when Gruden trashed the Eagles for the constant pressure they had Jalen Hurts endure against the Buccaneers on Monday night.
RGIII, who played for Gruden in Washington, would suggest that the coach was just as guilty, also noting that the latter told him he didn’t know how to handle a dual-threat QB such as himself after Gruden asked whether he wasn’t prepared.
The former head coach responded by blaming his coaching staff, admitting that probably RGIII was right and wishing him well.

It appeared the beef was over but the ESPN sportscaster would reignite it in a clip from his podcast accusing his old coach of asking him to criticize his teammates and then throwing him under the bus for it.
Gruden, of course, wasn’t best pleased and had a response for that too. He also trashed RGIII’s career in a deleted tweet which has been immortalized via the revolutionary screenshot method.
That’s when the threats came out.
“I’m not playing any games, I’m retired,” Griffin wrote. “You have a free invite to come on the show and discuss. Face to face. I know where all your bodies are buried Jay. Don’t play with me.”
Gruden has implied that he will be doing some talking on his own show this Friday.
Let’s hear what he has to say.
