The internet got on Robert Griffin III this Thursday, clowning the former NFL quarterback after he made claims of a team reaching out to him prior to the start of the season.
RGIII hasn’t played in the NFL in three years but hasn’t given up hope of a return.
Speaking on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’, the former Ravens, Browns, and Commanders QB said an NFL team showed interest in signing him back in August. However, he snubbed the approach in order to focus on his career in the media, though he would consider returning to the league if the right offer came along.
Asked to name the team, RGIII refused to do so out of respect for “privacy.”
“Out of respect for any teams that I have talked to, I keep them unnamed for now,” he said. “You know how the NFL works. Gave an honest answer but still respect the privacy of the team.”
Safe to say, the internet isn’t buying it…

Yeah, the QB-turned-sportscaster is going to have a hard time convincing anyone he was the subject of a team’s interest this year.
It appeared as if he was making a case to join the New York Jets after Aaron Rodgers got injured a few weeks ago, but the team has since signed Trevor Siemian.
