Lost amid the ever-evolving circus surrounding the Ravens’ COVID-19 outbreak is the fact that the team desperately needs a win against an undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers team to keep up in the playoff race — and they will need a very familiar face to help them get there.
With star QB Lamar Jackson being one of the nearly two dozen Ravens players on the COVID-19/reserve list, the team has turned to Robert Griffin III as their starting QB as they take on the Steelers on Wednesday afternoon.
Given all that has happened to him, there’s no wonder Griffin’s wife Grete posted a heartwarming message of support for her husband:
After winning Offensive Rookie of the Year with Washington in 2012, the No. 2 overall draft pick’s career fell hard as he was released after not appearing in one game during the 2015 season.
Griffin played for the Cleveland Browns in 2016, sat out of all of 2017 and finally signed with Baltimore as the No. 3 quarterback in 2018.
