Former NFL coach Rex Ryan is not a fan of the Dallas Cowboys playing their starters on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
During Saturday’s edition of NFL Countdown, Ryan shared his thoughts on the Cowboys playing Dak Prescott in what some people are calling a “meaningless game.” He passionately stated that head coach Mike McCarthy would be fired today if Cowboys QB Dak Prescott gets hurt during this game.
“If you get Dak Prescott hurt, you’re gonna get fired today,” Ryan said. “You won’t even get a flight home. You will get fired. So you better make sure you’re handling your job.”
Prescott has been hearing it a lot over his play on the field since he started hot at the beginning of the year. The Cowboys are likely trying to use this final game to right the ship of the offense before games get serious in the postseason.
“I feel like I’m seeing it fine,” Prescott said this week. “I don’t know if y’all differ. It doesn’t really matter to me. We’re continuing to get better and work, and that’s the simple fact of it.”
This year, Prescott is 389-of-569 passing for 4,154 yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with one regular-season game left to play.
