On the Monday morning following a Sunday night beat-down, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan was ready to deliver a scorching hot take directed at Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson.
“We’re going down to Dallas and our guys are gonna be ready to play … and we’re gonna win that football game, and when we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East,’’ Pederson said.
Ryan was upset that Pederson showed so much confidence in his team, but then would back off slightly. He even brought his pops, Buddy Ryan, when speaking on the topic.
“To me, man, pull a Buddy Ryan. If you’re going to say it, double down on it,” Ryan said on ESPN’s Get Up! “Doug Pederson, come on dude. It’s like a skunk – you pull the skunk out of the box, you can put him back in like he tried to do. Well, that smell is still out there. Dallas had that smell and beat the heck out of you.
“I’m just telling you, man up.”
Following the game, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott had a blunt response of his own when asked about Pederson’s pregame comments.

“We don’t give a f–k what Doug Pederson says,” he said.
The Eagles dropped to 3-4 on the year and in second place in the NFC East.
