Last week, Colin Kaepernick and Nike came under heavy scrutiny after the Nike Air Max 1 was discontinued after the former San Francisco 49ers QB took issue with the shoe having the Betsy Ross Flag that has ties to an era of slavery.
The biggest group to be outraged by Kaepernick doing just about anything is Republicans, who decided it would be a grand idea to use his image in a recent e-mail campaign.
The National Republican Congressional Committee sent out a fundraiser campaign e-mail that took shots at Kaepernick being described as an enemy to all members of the GOP and that his politics are anti-American. There was an image sent along with this email which appears to show Kaepernick with his skin being darkened.
This caused quite the stir among others who claimed this was a form of racism by the GOP.
According to Yahoo, the image upset one Democratic operative so much that he fired right back at the Republicans.
“House Republicans are running on racism, plain and simple. It’s disgusting, it’s offensive and it should be fireable, but there’s no accountability in the Republican Party,” the operative explained.
