Drew Brees might say publicly that he doesn’t know whether he’ll retire or not, but he is surely showing signs of other jobs outside of being the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints.
According to Jeff Duncan of The Athletic, Brees’ representatives have “had exploratory talks with network TV executives” to gauge interest in a future career in the booth.
The 41-year-old, who is a free agent, is contemplating retirement and the biggest factor in his decision will be his family.
“I’ve been enjoying time with my family. My kids are heavily involved in sports so being a part of their lives — it’s great,” Brees said, while talking to USA Today, via 4WWL. “I think at the end of the day (retirement means) more time with my family and just being ready for the next chapter of life which I think will be even better than this previous chapter.”
Brees made his 13th Pro Bowl in 2019, passing for 2,979 yards, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions while missing five starts due to a thumb injury.
