The Atlanta Falcons emerged as a surprise candidate for Deshaun Watson earlier today, as reports claimed they had a meeting set up with the Houston Texans quarterback.
Atlanta seemingly came out of nowhere, but it made sense given Atlanta’s ties to Watson.
Sure, Arthur Blank may have a thing for Watson, after hiring him as a Falcons ball boy during his childhood. But would Watson really go to a team that has Olamide Zaccheaus, Christian Blake and Frank Darby as it’s top three receivers at the moment.
So what gives? Do the Falcons seriously have a shot at luring Watson to the ATL based solely on his roots? Will Watson be satisfied with Kyle Pitts being his only real receiving option?
Probably not… But that doesn’t have to be the case. That’s because there are still some options out there for the Falcons in the free agent market. And some believe that Atlanta could have their sights set on one in particular.

Rumors have floated around the Twitterverse that Atlanta could be positioning themselves to acquire Deshaun Watson AND Allen Robinson. Heck, even Will Fuller’s name has come up, as he experienced quite a bit of success with Watson during their time in Houston together.
Again, these are unconfirmed sources, but the logic is there. If Watson is going to settle on his hometown team, they’re likely going to have to convince him that they can surround him with some key playmakers.
Pitts, A-Rob and Fuller would be a good start.
