Multiple NFL reporters have set off conspiracy theories after deleting their social media posts regarding the Kadarius Toney penalty that is likely to be spoken about all week.
The Kansas City Chiefs were denied a potential win by Toney’s being offside before the snap on a play that ended with him scoring a touchdown in what would have been the most impressive highlight coming from Week 14.
The Chiefs would have taken a 23-20 lead over the Bills had the TD been allowed to stand, but the defending champions have instead fallen to 8-5 for the season.
Patrick Mahomes went scorched earth on the refs on the sidelines and also let them have it in the postgame presser. Head coach Andy Reid was also critical of the officials as he insisted the Chiefs should have been warned that the wideout was lined up incorrectly as it’s what typically happens.
Two CBS reporters took to X to claim that Toney looked to the sideline for direction from the ref.
“For what it’s worth — I can confirm that Kadarius Toney looked to the sideline and pointed (as he lined up). I cannot comment whether the official acknowledged or signaled him to move back,” Josh Cohen reported.

Tracy Wolfson backed that up, claiming “I can confirm that he can confirm this.”
Both posts have since been deleted.
The ref involved has since explained that the Chiefs were not owed a warning given that Toney was egregiously offside and even obscured his view of the ball.
