Zach Ertz can certainly take a lot of pain in order to help his team secure a win.
That was the case last week when the Philadelphia Eagles tight end came up super clutch against the Dallas Cowboys despite him reportedly playing the contest with a cracked rib and lacerated kidney.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Ertz had to be hospitalized after Philadelphia’s Week 16 win over the Cowboys with the lacerated kidney.
He is not expected to be available for the Week 17 game against the New York Giants.
“Medically, I want to make sure he’s 100 percent,” coach Doug Pederson said. “Zach is a tough guy. I know he wants to be out there, but at the same time, I’m not going to risk anything further for him personally.”
Ertz is the Eagles’ leading receiver on a team that severely lacks pass catching talent so his absence is going to greatly missed.
