When a player of Deshaun Watson’s caliber becomes available and you can get him, you do whatever it takes to make it happen. That’s exactly what the Atlanta Falcons are doing in their pursuit of the Houston Texans quarterback.
The Falcons already have the benefit of being Watson’s hometown team. And I’m sure Arthur Blank is reminding Deshaun that he owes him a favor after the Falcons owner employed the Texans quarterback as a ball boy during his childhood days.
But that’s not all. Now, there’s a report from Josina Anderson claiming the city of Atlanta is bringing out their big boys by getting the “who’s who” of the ATL to try and lure the star quarterback to their town. Among the list of recruiters are rappers Lil’ Baby and Quavo, along with other musicians, and athletes from the Braves and Hawks.
That’s pretty impressive, but can Lil’ Baby catch a slant like Michael Thomas? The Falcons can show him all the love, but there’s no doubting that it’s the Saints who offer Watson the best chance to compete for a Super Bowl.
Which NFC South team will he choose? We may not have our answer until the weekend.
