Surprise, surprise. Another NFL quarterback is rumored to possibly be on the move this offseason.
This time it’s the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins, who apparently has worn out his welcome in the Gopher State. Cousins’ time in Minny has been rocky, to say the least. He came in to replace Case Keenum one year after the Vikings made it all the way to the NFC championship game. But despite the supposed upgrade at quarterback, the team has not been able to replicate that success from 2017, with just one playoff season (and one playoff victory) during Cousins’ four years with the team.
From the sound of it, the Vikings don’t appear too keen on giving Kirk a fifth year to take them to the promised land.
According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, the Vikings are open to trading Kirk Cousins, with the Colts and Seahawks emerging as possible destinations for the polarizing quarterback.
Both the Seahawks and the Colts have moved on from their 2021 starting quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Carson Wentz, respectively. They’ll both need to fill the position, and with only so many options available, it wouldn’t be a surprised of one of these two clubs was forced to make a pitch for Cousins’ services.
