Star wide receivers such as Antonio Brown, DeSean Jackson, and Odell Beckham Jr. have found themselves on different teams this offseason, and another big name apparently surfaced in trade discussions prior to the start of free agency.
In response to a question about the reported child abuse investigation on Tyreek Hill and what his involvement in the battery case could be, The Athletic’s Jay Glazer revealed he heard “rumblings” that the Kansas City Chiefs had the wide-out involved in trade discussions well before they knew about any child abuse.
“On a separate note, even if none of this happened, there were questions in Kansas City about whether they could re-sign Tyreek Hill,” Glazer said. “I heard some rumblings at the start of free agency that his name was being thrown about in trade talks, but at the time thought it had to do with his contract more than anything else. I think this one will take a little while to play out.”
In March, there were also reports that the Chiefs were in talks with Hill about a monster contract extension.
What is unclear right now is how the franchise will proceed as the investigation tries to figure out how his 3-year-old received a broken arm.
