Perhaps no NFL superstar has been mentioned in trade rumors over the past year more than Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams.
The soon-to-be 32-year-old Davane Adams is in his third season with the Raiders, who haven’t at all looked like a contender since his arrival. Adams has put up elite stats since joining the AFC West club, but the Raiders continue to be held back by lackluster QB play.
So many have wondered if the retooling Raiders would look at trading their All-Pro wideout while his value is high, with Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets being widely mentioned as a logical landing spot.
But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a trade involving Davante Adams is not on the table as the Nov. 5 trade deadline approaches:
“(Raiders head coach Antonio) Pierce told reporters after an embarrassing 36-22 loss at home that he thought “there were definitely some individuals that made business decisions, and we’ll make business decisions going forward as well.
Those comments led to speculation the Raiders would consider trading Adams, but that is not currently an option — nor was it last summer.
The Raiders rejected multiple teams that approached them over the summer, inquiring whether Adams would be available in a trade, according to league sources. The Raiders considered an Adams trade a nonstarter and turned away at least two teams before an offer could even be made, according to sources.”

Things can always change between now and the Nov. 5 trade deadline, but the Raiders need to be open to the idea of dealing their top offensive weapon if they’re out of the postseason race in a month’s time.
This team is nowhere close to competing for a Super Bowl, and Davante Adams’ trade value isn’t going to get any higher at this point with his 32nd birthday approaching.
Adams, who missed the Raiders’ Week 4 home game against the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury, has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown this season. He hit the 100-catch mark and exceeded 1,100 yards in each of his first two seasons with the Raiders.
Next week, the Raiders visit the AFC West Denver Broncos at 4:05 p.m. EST.
Davante Adams Makes Sense For Any Super Bowl Contender
Adams is still a WR1 and would significantly improve any team’s chances of winning a Super Bowl. Teams like the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers especially stand out as logical landing spots for Adams if he hits the trade block.
