Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady is no stranger to having controversies in the NFL, and it appears he had at least one more that we are just now finding out about it.
NFL fans greatly remember the time the New Orleans Saints shocked the country with their Bountygate scandal that saw players earn under-the-table cash for knocking out opponents with ferocious hits.
Well, it appears Tom Brady had a similar type of system when he took his talents to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it wasn’t for any players to hurt anybody.
According to Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Ali Marpet, Tom Brady would bribe or give his teammates an incentive to accomplish certain goals to help them out on offense.
“[Brady] took our starting offensive line to the side, and he’s like, ‘Hey, if you guys can get a screen to go for more than 15 yards, I will give you $1,000 cash each. That is for you guys, so every time that we get that, I will be happy to make that payment.'”
His teammates would accomplish this feat many times throughout the season, which meant Brady had to go into his bank account several times to reward them with the bonus. His teammates reportedly loved it.

Brady paying his teammates to help the team get more yards on plays is nothing like what the New Orleans Saints did when they hurt players, but he still violated the NFL’s rules against offering players extra money off the books.

As we all know, Tom Brady retired for a second time after the 2022 season and has shown no interest in coming back. However, there have been rumblings of a potential comeback, but nothing has been stated by the man himself. Should that happen, the NFL would have to look into the story and actually find evidence of these transactions happening.
If any player that was paid is still in the league, they may find themselves in trouble as well.
