Tom Brady’s contract is set up in a way that Saturday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans just might be his final game with the New England Patriots, and it seems he is no closer to deal today than he was months ago.
On Friday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss cited a source that told him Brady’s entire contract situation with the team is truly a “wait and see.”
On top of that, Brady and the organization have not had any contract talks since they agreed to a revised deal back in August.
Brady has a clause in his current contract that states the team cannot place a franchise tag on him, so he is definitely going to be free to sign with any team if he doesn’t get an extension before March.
Rumors have suggested this might be his final year, but this has been New England’s approach since forever, which is why they have sustained success for so long.
