Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly trying to make things work with Gisele Bündchen amid reports of a looming divorce.
On Tuesday morning, Page Six reported that Brady and Bündchen have hired divorce lawyers, and that the two “are looking at dividing their assets.” Brady and Bündchen tied the knot in 2009, and they have a son and a daughter together. Brady also has a son from a previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.
People magazine also confirmed with sources that Bündchen has retained a divorce lawyer. But according to a report from the outlet, Brady himself is “trying to figure out what to do.”
The report added that Brady is searching for his own divorce lawyer. Another source told People that the seven-time Super Bowl champion and four-time league MVP is trying to find a way to make things “work.”
Here’s what the source told People:
“They’re hitting a rough patch. But I know they’re trying, or at least he’s trying, to figure it out and make it work. He wants to get through this and for things to get better.”
Earlier this offseason, Brady made headlines when he took an 11-day absence from Buccaneers training camp. Personal reasons were cited as the reason, though Brady didn’t offer specific details on the matter.

Many speculated that the absence was due to marital issues. Bündchen expressed concern over the game of football during a recent interview with ELLE, citing the violence in the sport.
Brady initially announced his retirement soon after the Bucs were eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. 40 days later, however, Brady announced that he was coming back for a 23rd NFL season.
He returned to the Buccaneers with one year left on his contract, having signed a one-year contract extension with the organization following their Super Bowl 55 championship.
The 45-year-old Brady is the holder of most major NFL quarterback stats, including passing yards, passing touchdowns and quarterback wins.
Tampa Bay dropped a second straight game to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night and fell to 2-2 on the season. They’ll attempt to get back on track when they host the Atlanta Falcons at Raymond James Stadium this Sunday.
