The 2017 NFL draft worked out well for several teams who selected a quarterback — like the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
Teams like the Chicago Bears ended up with Mitch Trubisky after trading up for him and now they’ve since traded for Nick Foles and he is expected to take the starting QB job.
Earlier this week, Bleacher Report insider Matt Miller and others talked about the 2017 draft and it led to him revealing that the Houston Texans had Patrick Mahomes as the No. 1 quarterback on their board.
They tried hard to trade up and get him, but the former Texas Tech standout ended up being selected by the Chiefs.
Two picks later and the Texans selected Deshaun Watson.
Watson has carried the Texans to the playoffs each of the last two seasons, while the Mahomes has won an MVP and the Super Bowl this past season.
