It looks like the Houston Texans are seriously trying to unload Jadeveon Clowney.
During Fox Sports’ Thursday telecast — Jay Glazer reported that the Texans have spoken to 10 teams including the Dolphins about a potential trade for franchise DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney.
The 25-year-old has yet to sign his franchise tag worth $15.967 million and has skipped the offseason program, training camp, as well as two preseason games so far.
Clowney would have to sign his franchise tender in order to be traded. Him not doing so actually gives him the leverage to pick the destination that best suits him.
The former No. 1 overall pick of the Texans back in 2014 racked up 47 tackles, 9 sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, one defensive touchdown and a pass defense during the 2018 season.
